What is Mind Clearing?

One of the most useful ways to begin to clear the mind of information is to allocate some quite time (at least 10-15 minutes) and to sit with pen and paper and write down everything that comes up in your mind on the paper.  This process of mind clearing has also been called a mind dump.

With this long list of items the next step is to then categorise each of them.  Spreding of literatureThe first group in the list is activities that would take no more than 5 minutes to complete, the next group is activates that would take between 1-2 hours to complete and the final group of activities are the ones that would take longer to complete.

With the activities that would only take up to 5 minutes allocate a time when you are able to do these and then sit down in a focused way and only do these activities in that time that you have allocated.

With the activities that would take between 1-2 hours allocate times for when you will complete these but also allocate time where you are able to take a break in between each of them.  Also see where there are some activities that require other things to happen first and so work out a sequence of which ones seem more practical to do first.

For the activities that are going to take over 2 hours to complete think of these as projects, big and small.  These may need to have a plan of how to complete them worked out and may also need other people to help get them done.  With these larger activates which will take more time prioritise which of these is the most to least urgent (at this point in time) to complete.

With these lists of things from your mind grouped into the 3 areas, you will begin to feel lighter and more energised as you will not be trying to remember everything.  By clearing your mind you are then more able to be more present in each moment as you are not trying to remember other things for later as they are recorded somewhere for you to refer to when you need to.
